CS 373 Spring 2021 Week 8: Chanakya Remani
Welcome to Week 8 of my CS 373: Software Engineering blog!
1.) What did you do this past week?
This past week, I started learning a lot about the frontend tools required for the future phases of the project as I will be working on that for phase 2 after working on the API/backend in phase 1. In my other classes, I had exams and projects that I finished up so I could enjoy the break.
2.) What is in your way?
I would say that spring break is kind of in my way, due to the fact that I want to be able to relax and not think about school that much, but the impending deadline of the SWE project, despite it being moved, has left me alert in terms of trying to work on it proactively over the break.
3.) What will you do next week?
Next week, I will make the website better in terms of the way it looks as well as figuring out how to make templates for the instance pages and also learn all about pagination. Away from school, I plan on relaxing over spring break.
4.) If you read it, what did you think of the Liskov Substitution Principle?
I did not read the Liskov Substitution Principle paper.
5.) What was your experience of iteration, comprehensions, generators, and digits iterator?
I think I got a better of how iteration work from the quiz questions we had and reviewing Professor Downing’s notes. I found list comprehensions and generators really cool as its something that makes Python truly unique and different from other languages I have coded in.
6.) What made you happy this week?
My family came down to Austin this week so I got to spend time with them as well as with my two dogs, who I hadn’t seen in 2 months.
7.) What is your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?
My tip of the week is to enjoy spring break while you can and not stress too much about the web development project. UT is one of the few universities in Texas that hasn’t cancelled spring break so I will definitely make use of that time to relax and sleep.
